Decades of Field-Tested Experience and Practical Design
Structural engineering is in our blood. Growing up around his father's engineering firm founded in 1981, Brett Bihner learned the fundamentals of structural integrity, detailing, and client trust from an early age. After earning his engineering license and spending two decades leading complex commercial and industrial projects, Brett established B.N.R. Structural Engineering to provide clients with a more direct, high-touch engineering partnership.
Today, B.N.R. has engineered over 150 commercial and industrial structures encompassing more than 10 million square feet across Texas and Louisiana. Our reputation is built on delivering clean, highly constructible drawings that minimize contractor RFIs, protect project budgets, and keep construction schedules moving forward.

Our Approach to Structural Engineering
At B.N.R. Structural Engineering, our philosophy is grounded in simplicity and constructibility. Overly complicated designs inflate construction costs, slow down subcontractors, and generate avoidable field disputes. We design clean framing schemes, efficient load paths, and standardized detailing that contractors can build accurately and rapidly.
Integrated 3D BIM Modeling (Revit)
Every project is developed in Autodesk Revit from the start. This allows us to generate precise 2D framing plans, foundation layouts, and full tilt-up panel elevations directly from an integrated 3D model, ensuring cross-sheet consistency, spatial accuracy, and seamless coordination with architectural and MEP trades.
Dedicated Construction Administration
Our involvement does not end when drawings are stamped. During construction, we treat responsiveness as a priority: promptly reviewing concrete reinforcement, structural steel, and joist shop drawings, performing site visits, and providing practical field solutions whenever job site challenges arise.
